Perspective

Some edgy comedians done some bad swears on a grand-dads answer machine:

Resignations: 3
Suspensions: 2
Daily Mail reader complaints: 50000+
Prime Ministers calling it “unacceptable and innapropriate”: 1

———

Haringay Social Services allow, ONCE AGAIN, an abused child that they’re supposed to be keeping a watchful eye on, to be killed by its scum-sucking parents:

Resignations: 0
Suspensions: 0
Daily Mail reader complaints: Not a one.
Prime Ministers calling it “unacceptable and innapropriate”: 0

Great Britain - it’s a “special” place.

A great way of putting things into perspective.

The more I read about the Child P case, the less I really want to know. Not that I’m indfferent, but because the whole story is truly heartbreaking.

I just can’t imagine what a living hell he must have gone through and if the people in the agencies that matter in all of this had to suffer just 1% of what he did then I’m sure things would be sorted out post haste.

This isn’t the Sudan, the Congo or some other third world nation - we think we’re civilised but Child P has shown that underneath the veneer of Ipods and alcopops there lies a world that most of us can’t even begin to imagine.

Really, think too much about it all and you’d just cry…

Will anything effective be done to stop this obscenity happening again?

I’d like to think that it will, but I think our politicians lack the courage and collective will to make any effective decisions.

I know exactly what you mean re: upset - Shirley read all the details and then wished she hadn’t, it kept her awake, and i’ve intentionally avoided it for the same reason.

And still it goes on - there STILL haven’t been any suspensions or sackings, while today a panel of MP’s is “grilling” the BBC over ManuelGate.
